2023-2024 Ms . Games & Ms . Congeniality
Wow this year is cruising along ! February was a fun filled month and oddly , very warm ! We attended the monthly WSCA meeting in Chaska . We also attended the annual Arena Trailer Sales event in Cannon Falls . It was fun to help with drawings and meet new people . Also a great opportunity to give thanks to an amazing sponsor to both WSCA and the Queens Contest . What a great turnout ! Then at the end of February we attended the North Metro Banquet . It was fabulous to see so many familiar faces in this snowless season . Passing out awards is one of my favorite things to do as Ms Games / Ms Congeniality . I absolutely love seeing the smiles on everyone ’ s faces . As horse people , we put a lot of hard work into showing . So , seeing all the excitement on everyone ’ s face when passing out awards brings a lot of warm fuzzies . Lastly , to wrap up the month , we attended the Skijoring event held at Canterbury . The Royalty Court were huge supporters as my teammate , Bella , and I competed in both the Novice and Open classes . I was a tad worried with how little snow we got , if we were going to be able to pull off an event , but Canterbury had us covered . If you haven ’ t attended or have been apart of the event before , it ’ s a HUGE adrenaline rush and a lot of fun ! Plus they had wiener dog races !
I want to give a special thank you to the Wild River Riders Saddle Club . You are a club I ’ m overly proud to represent and say I am apart of . The endless support during the Queens contest and all the love afterwards makes me feel so special to have you in my corner . Thank you ! Hats off to this group as they were the loudest cheering group in the Coliseum too . I am looking forward to another great show year along side of all of you !
What I do outside of WSCA ? Well March is going to be a month to remember . I am taking a trip to New Zealand with my Grandma to visit family currently living down there for the year . Normally I ’ m busy working my main job , or cleaning stalls at my favorite barn , Oasis Equestrian Center . Or I am helping out on my parent ’ s farm where my horses are boarded . I have three fur-babies . Pepe turns 26 this March . Jazz turned 9 in August . And Whiskey is 21 months . Wow are babies exhausting ! He has been a lot of fun playing with . From learning how to stand still for our favorite farrier . To learning that a squirt bottle is not going to hurt you . He has been fun to make new memories with and I can ’ t wait to see what the future holds for us . In addition to playing with my horses , I help out with my parent ’ s alpacas , chickens and their horses . They ’ re also in the process of building their forever home , so it ’ s been great having little to zero snow this year . I ’ m currently in the process of making a scrapbook of the Royalty adventures . This scrapbook will be with us for the Royalty Clinic , the MN Horse Expo , Champshow , and all the fun events along the way . So feel free to come see all our memories so far !
Where can you find the Royalty Court next ? We ’ ll be at the Board meeting / General Meeting in March . There ’ s the Royalty Clinic fast approaching in April . We are overly excited to see the new contestants and help make this a memorable experience . We ’ re also getting ready for the annual MN Horse Expo towards the end of April . March is a little quiet compared to January and February , so it ’ s giving us a chance to catch up and get ready for a busy April . Before we all know it , May will be here and it will kick off show season . Who is getting excited ? I know I am ! Speaking of shows , don ’ t forget to head over to the WSCA On Deck site and mark your calendars for the Royalty show on June 15th . We can ’ t wait to see you all !
