Chess Position Trainer – © Stefan Renzewitz 2012 - all rights reserved 34 3 General 3.1 Ribbon, Application Menu, Quick Access Toolbar and Tooltips Chess Position Trainer uses a ribbon instead of a classical toolbar. It is important to have a basic understanding how a ribbon works. The ribbon takes up the top space of the application. If no database is loaded only the ribbon page “Visuals & Sound” is shown. Once you load a database more pages are shown. Depending on the module (e.g. opening or training) the pages will be different. At the very top you can find the quick access toolbar. You can add any command from the ribbon to the quick access toolbar. Just right-click on the command and choose the corresponding item. The quick access toolbar let arrange your most frequently used commands in a ways which gives you... quick access. The application menu can be reached by clicking on the application icon to the top left corner. A menu is shown with some basic functions like creating a new database or loading one. A list of recent documents is shown too:
