The training module has many options which let you customize your training environment. The most important
ones are the different training modes which let you either recall already trained positions or learn new positions.
First select the opening which you want to train if it is not selected by default. At the moment we want to learn
our just entered candidate moves of the “Closed Sicilian” opening. Please select the “Complete Line” mode.
The “Complete Line” mode will train you in a more connected way in the meaning that you always begin with
the start position and then play a complete line like a game. There are other modes which let you start with the
position which the program identified for training. The advantage is that you are not playing the same positions
again and again, but focus on the training positions. Also you avoid to memorize concrete move orders instead
of recognizing positions. The disadvantage is that these positions are not connected and thus it doesn’t feel like
playing a game. For some players new openings are easier to learn if they complete lines as they get quicker
familiar with it. At the end it is a matter of taste and it is good to know that you have the choice.
If you click on the “Complete Line Mode ribbon page (in case it is not expanded) you can choose to let the program demo the line first before you have to play it. There is another useful function to always start with first
new positions which let you play to some degree complete lines, but with the advantage that already trained
positions are skipped.
