PART 2 • The chess tree

You can also create your own game trees based on the GigaKing
database games which were played by a particular player. When
you're playing through a game from GigaKIng, you can click the
“Analysis” button from the Ribbon, then click “Tree” from the left-hand
panel:

The panel will change to display a number of options:

• Any trees you've already created will be listed in the panel. You can
see in the above illustration that a tree for the games of Viswanathan
Anand (playing the Black pieces) had previously been created.
Clicking that entry in the panel will open that game tree. Likewise,
clicking “GigaKing” from the panel will display the standard Chess King
game tree based on the games of the GigaKing database.
• You can load trees from outside the program by clicking “Custom” to
show the standard Windows file selection dialogue (just as you see in
many other Windows programs, which will allow you to select a file from
any folder on any drive). Chess King trees have the file extension .aqt;
for example, you'd be able to load a tree file which a friend gave you
after he or she created it in Chess King. Tree files in .hsh format are
also able to be loaded in this manner.
