PART 2 • Analyzing your games with houdini
Choose one of the settings and then click “Start”. Houdini
will then begin to analyze the game. You'll see a progress
bar which gives an idea of how far Houdini has gone into its
estimated projected time needed for the analysis type you've
selected, as well as an “Abort” button which lets you stop
Houdini's analysis at any time. When Houdini has completed
its analysis, you'll see a popup box informing you of the fact,
and you'll see the analysis in the Notation panel:
• Houdini will provide a numerical analysis for each move of the game
(similar to the “on the fly” analysis you receive when you play against
Chess King in Quest and Classical modes). Houdini will also show
variations at points in the game where one player erred significantly.
The program even inserts opening references just like the ones you see
in chess books and magazines!
