PART 2 • The end of a quest – the fruits of victory
When you click“ Statistics” you see a new dialogue with several functions. Clicking on“ Achievements” in the left-hand panel will show all of the minor achievements which Chess King has recognized in your play:
• Each category of achievement also displays a pair of numbers separated by a slash. The number to the right of the slash is the“ target”, the number of times you ' ll need to repeat the achievement before you receive a gold puzzle piece as a reward. The number to the left of the slash is the number of times you ' ve actually successfully performed that particular achievement. For example, Kara already has a gold puzzle piece for capturing unprotected pawns; she needed to capture 25 of them, and has already beat the target( she ' s snagged 33 loose pawns so far). On the other hand, she ' s never yet captured a Queen, so that piece appears as a blank. Values between zero and the target earn bronze or silver pieces depending on how close the achieved value is to the target value.
