MARIAH MARTIN TIMBERVIEW HIGH SCHOOL
While at Timberview , Mariah was a leader and star , serving as captain of the Celebrities Drill Team for two years , representing her classmates on the Superintendent ’ s Student Advisory Committee , and being crowned Homecoming Queen in 2012 .
After high school , Mariah attended Tyler Junior College , where she joined the Apache Belles Drill Team , Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society , and the Black Student Association .
She continued her academic journey at UT Arlington , earning her Bachelor ’ s in Math through the UTeach program . While studying , she also danced professionally for the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue Dance Team and worked as an AVID tutor at Summit High School .
Now , Mariah is back in Mansfield ISD as a math educator at Summit High School , where she has taught algebra 1 and advanced algebra 1 for the past five years . She is also a member of the AVID Site Team and continues her passion for dance as a professional dancer for the WNBA Dallas Wings .
Mariah reflects on her time in MISD , saying , " MISD helped me get college , career , and life ready . I learned patience , discipline , and the importance of understanding the ' why ' through my failures while always celebrating my wins ."

JONATHAN NELSON
SUMMIT HIGH SCHOOL
A proud 2006 graduate of Summit High School , Jonathan was a true allaround standout , excelling in football , basketball , and track while also giving back through volunteering .
Jonathan made history as the first football player from Mansfield Summit HS to be drafted into the NFL , where he earned NFC Rookie of the Week honors . Before that , his academic journey took him to OU , where he earned a degree in accounting and finance , all while becoming a two-time all-conference football player on scholarship .
Beyond the field , Jonathan has made an impact in his community , serving on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters for three years and continuing to mentor . He also leads a serve team and a Bible study at his church .
Now a commercial banker at Texas Capital Bank , Jonathan reflects on his time at Mansfield ISD : “ It was a diverse , loving , fun , and genuine community that shielded me from the foolishness of the outside world while preparing me for what was to come ,” he said .
