MANSFIELD ISD INSPIRES THROUGH PARTNERS IN EDUCATION
Mansfield ISD ’ s Partners in Education ( PIE ) program is fortunate to have numerous outstanding mentors , volunteers , and community partners ( MVPs ). Partners in Education held their banquet on April 10 to celebrate their MVPs . Pie was served to honor those in the community as ‘ an important piece of pie .’ The event was generously sponsored by Huckabee Architects .

Charles Caldwell Mentor of the Year
Desiree Thomas has volunteered at Mansfield ISD campuses for the past 20 years . She serves as a trustee of the MISD School Board and is a PTA Council Member . Throughout her years , she has contributed to the MISD Clothes Closet , served on the Glenn Harmon Elementary School PTA , volunteered at Summit High School for the Cookie Sales , and volunteered at TA Howard Middle School . Additionally , she volunteers in a first-grade classroom every week .
Charles Caldwell , also known as “ Big C ,” is an individual who inspires , empowers , and uplifts those around him . He began mentoring a middle school student when the PIE program launched . Over time , due to the need for more male mentors , he decided to take on two additional mentees . Big C not only supports the PIE program but also dedicates himself to guiding students at The Phoenix Academy . Additionally , he arranges for guest speakers to inspire students to strive for success .
Common Ground Community Partner of the Year
Common Ground has consistently supported Mansfield ISD , from donating over 26,000 food bags to students and families to volunteering at the Back to School Bash and partnering with Mansfield ISD ’ s Clothes Closet .
