DISTRICT HONORS TOP SENIOR SCHOLARS , EDUCATORS WHO IMPACTED THEIR LIVES
The Mansfield ISD graduating seniors with the highest grade point averages ( GPAs ) recently celebrated their accomplishment with their favorite teacher and loved ones during the annual Top Scholars and Distinguished Educators Banquet .
The top 10 scholars from the district ’ s traditional high schools — Lake Ridge High School , Legacy High School , Mansfield High School , Summit High School and Timberview High School — and the top five students from MISD ’ s Early College High School attended the event on Thursday , May 11 .
When the program began , each student , along with their chosen educator , was celebrated on stage . Educators were surprised with a video from the student that played as the pair walked across the stage .
“ I ’ ve known her since my seventhgrade science class , and since then she ’ s only pushed me to be better ,” said Timberview High School senior Mariam Dohadwala in her video about her chosen educator counselor Becky Bielinski . “ She ’ s known when to tell me to push myself , but also told me when to slow down . That can make a really big difference when life gets kind of crazy in high school . There

were moments when I felt really lonely , but I was able to find a friend in Ms . Bielinski .”
Mariam said she was glad to be able to show her appreciation for Bielinski in front of a crowd .
“ She ’ s someone to be proud of ,” Mariam said .
For the educators in attendance , it was a fulfilling experience to hear about the lasting mark they left on someone else ’ s life .
“ I was really touched and honored ,”
Bielinski said .
Superintendent Dr . Kimberley Cantu said this event proves that the work educators do in their classroom every day not only works but is remembered .
“ What an honor to be selected by these incredible students ” Dr . Cantu said .
The graduating seniors will be attending a variety of colleges and universities , ranging from the Rose- Hulman Institute of Technology to the University of Texas at Arlington .
