NEW SMART TAG SYSTEM IS REVOLUTIONIZING STUDENT TRANSPORTATION
At the end of the last school year , the transportation department began implementing the Smart Tag system for all students , starting with elementary students . The aim of this system is to enhance student safety and keep families informed about their child ’ s transportation . Over the summer , the department worked diligently to extend the system to intermediate and special education students who receive bus transportation . The system will be fully operational for middle and high school students by spring break .
Smart Tags are single tags that students scan when they board and exit their bus . If a student is at the wrong stop , the system will display a red alert and notify the bus driver . The system also tracks the bus location and sends alerts when the student boards and exits . All riders are required to have a tag .
The Edulog system is no longer in use , and parents should now download the Smart Tag app from the app store . Although , middle and high school students do not yet have SmartTags , parents can track their child ’ s bus through the Smart Tag app .
