MANSFIELD ISD WINS NATIONAL , STATE FINE ARTS AWARDS

The Mansfield ISD Fine Arts Department has been recognized for its contributions to excellence in music , visual arts , and theatre education .

Best Communities for Music Education TAEA District of Distinction
TxETA District of Distinction
The NAMM Foundation named Mansfield ISD one of the country ’ s Best Communities for Music Education . The foundation recognizes schools nationwide for their support and commitment to music education and their efforts to ensure access to music for all students as part of a well-rounded education .
Mansfield ISD is also a recipient of the 2023-24 District of Distinction award in visual arts . More than 1,200 districts were eligible to apply for the prestigious Texas Art Education Association Visual Art Award .
Only 96 districts met the high standards required to receive this honor , placing Mansfield ISD ’ s visual art program in the top 5.5 % of visual art programs in the state .
The Texas Educational Theatre Association recognized Mansfield ISD ’ s theatre department for its outstanding contributions to raising the standards of theatre education . The award is based on the district ’ s achievements in theatre arts , curation of resources , and its diversity and advocacy for theatre arts .

EDUCATORS WIN BIG FOR CREATIVE CONTRIBUTIONS TO TEACHING

Congratulations to three remarkable educators ! Thelma Foster , principal at Carol Holt Elementary , was the winner of the

“ Name Our New Network ” contest hosted by engage2learn . The contest tasked participants with creating a name for the organization ’ s new teacher membership network . Her innovative idea , “ NextGen Teacher Network ,” earned her a $ 1,000 prize .
In addition , Monica Sudbury , librarian , and Alexis Warren , music teacher , were each awarded $ 500 . These funds will be used to enrich their library and classroom supplies and resources , further supporting their commitment to providing exceptional educational experiences for students .
