#WeAreMISD
What’s Happening Around the District
Kindergarten students at Charlotte Anderson
Elementary learned about what it takes to become a
community helper.
A school assembly turned into a family reunion
after a soldier, and father of two MISD
students, made a surprise homecoming. Gideon
Elementary School and Timberview High School
teamed up to make it all possible.
A team of students from Asa Low, Jr. Intermediate
School ran in the Miles for Meredith fundraising
race and won first place in category, which means
$1,000 will be awarded to their school!
Students at Tarver-Rendon Elementary School collected
more than 2,300 items to donate to the Bethlehem Baptist
Church food pantry!
Students in the Principles of Law class at Ben Barber Innovation
Academy dressed up for Professional Attire Day and participated
in mock mediation cases.
16 Mansfield School & Family
Schools all across the district took part in
different activities for Red Ribbon Week, a
nationwide program to take a stand against
drugs. Carol Holt Elementary School held
a twin day to buddy-up against drugs.
Atoms and creativity were bouncing all around
Danny Jones Middle School. The eighth-graders
spent the day wearing their research projects.
MISD students and staff from various schools and
departments took turns ringing the bells for the
Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign.
Fourth-graders at Willie Brown Elementary School
interactively learned about force and motion by
participating in an egg drop. Reading isn’t the only thing that takes place at the
library. MISD libraries, like this one at Alice Ponder
Elementary School, also help students explore
magnets, robots and technology.
Graphic novelist Nathan Hale gave a great
presentation to the students at Cross Timbers
Intermediate School. He showed off his talent by
drawing everything he was talking about. Children at D.P. Morris Elementary School learned by
combat bullies in their camouflage clothes as part of
an anti-bullying campaign.
