Two Employees Earn Fall 2016 Heartbeat Award
wo deserving Mansfield ISD employees have been added to the MISD Heartbeat Team. The Heartbeat Award
recognizes employees, nominated by their peers, who display heart in their lives and inspire other district
employees through their actions.
The latest recipients are Jennifer Young, principal of
Mansfield High School, and Jeff Brogden, associate
superintendent of facilities and bond programs.
Young was nominated for all the hard work she puts in
every day for the students and staff of Mansfield High
School. Staff members said her bubbly personality and
genuine interest in the lives of students has changed the
school for the better.
“She made Mansfield High School a place where every
story matters,” said chemistry teacher Corey Nieman. “She
preaches that every day to us as a staff and to the students.”
Brogden (second from left) was congratulated by staff and
community members for his impact.
Brogden can be seen on several campuses and facilities making sure the
district’s buildings are kept in good condition. He also headed some of the
district’s most significant bond programs.
Brogden received the award for his outstanding leadership and for the effort he
puts into his job.
“Jeff is a guy who gets it,” said Chris Huckabee, chief executive officer of
Huckabee and Associates, Inc. “He understands that what we’re doing we do
for the students of Mansfield ISD, and he does it to respect the taxpayers of
Mansfield ISD.”
Young and Brogden were surprised with the MISD Heartbeat Award on Nov.
28. Both were emotional and showed great appreciation for receiving such
recognition.
Superintendent Dr. Jim Vaszauskas
presented Young with her award.
The Heartbeat Award began in January 2003. A total of four employees will
receive the award for the 2016-17 school year.
