District Earns 13th Consecutive Perfect Financial Accountability Rating F or the 13th year in a row, Mansfield ISD has continued its commitment to excellence in financial reporting and accountability by achieving a perfect score in the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (School FIRST). School FIRST is the state’s school financial accountability rating system that is designed to encourage Texas public schools to better manage their financial resources. Every Texas school district is required to prepare the financial accountability report. MISD’s overall score was 30 out of 30. The district scored positive responses on all seven indicators, which measured items such as cost ratios and net balances. “I’m very pleased to be able to say that Mansfield ISD has obtained the highest score possible for School FIRST for the 13th consecutive year,” said Pre-K to Grade 12 Reading Writing Math Dr. Karen Wiesman, associate superintendent of business and finance. “The superior scores are a testament to the excellent staff within our district who are dedicated to financial responsibility and transparency.” MISD’s 2015 rating is based on budgetary and actual financial data, along with an analysis of staff and student data reported for the 2013-14 fiscal year.
