District Earns 13th Consecutive Perfect Financial Accountability Rating
F
or the 13th year in a row, Mansfield ISD has
continued its commitment to excellence in
financial reporting and accountability by achieving a
perfect score in the School Financial Integrity Rating
System of Texas (School FIRST).
School FIRST is the state’s school financial
accountability rating system that is designed to
encourage Texas public schools to better manage
their financial resources. Every Texas school district
is required to prepare the financial accountability
report.
MISD’s overall score was 30 out of 30. The district
scored positive responses on all seven indicators,
which measured items such as cost ratios and net
balances.
“I’m very pleased to be able to say that Mansfield
ISD has obtained the highest score possible for
School FIRST for the 13th consecutive year,” said

business and finance. “The superior scores are a
testament to the excellent staff within our district
who are dedicated to financial responsibility and
transparency.”
MISD’s 2015 rating is based on budgetary and actual
financial data, along with an analysis of staff and
student data reported for the 2013-14 fiscal year.
