MISD STUDENTS EARN DIPLOMA AND ASSOCIATE DEGREE
To save Mansfield ISD students time and money as they pursue their higher education , Mansfield ISD opened its Tarrant County College ( TCC ) Southeast Early College High School at Timberview in August 2017 .
The Tarrant County College graduation was held before MISD ’ s graduation ceremony weekend .
The school gives students an opportunity to earn a high school diploma with an associate degree ( up to 60 credit hours ).
This year , 100 % of the Early College High
School ’ s second-ever graduating class earned between 44 and 60 college credit hours , with 89 % of the class already earning an associate degree before walking the stage of their high school graduation .
“ To say I ’ m proud is an understatement ,” said principal Erica Bennett . “ As we remove financial barriers and other barriers to college , we are focused more than ever on supporting students who are eager to attend college . None of this could be achieved without our diligent students and staff and the support from district leaders and the community as a whole .”
The 76 graduating seniors also earned a total of $ 7.6 million in scholarship money to pursue their bachelor ’ s degree .
MISD ’ s Early College High School houses students in grades 9-12 from all across the district . The application process opens in January . If chosen , students are able to receive transportation to the campus .

STUDENT IMPROVEMENT SCORES IN 99TH PERCENTILE NATIONWIDE
Mansfield ISD wrapped up the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness ( STAAR ) testing , and the district is optimistic about the student performance that the tests will indicate . over the last two years . The end-of-year results have been released , and it shows that Mansfield ISD student growth is in the 99th percentile in multiple grade levels in both reading and math .

Before the release of STAAR results in the coming weeks , a significant milestone was discovered in another assessment that tracks student growth , indicating how much students have academically improved over time .
MISD has been administering measures of academic progress ( MAP ) assessments

Kimberley Cantu . “ The district is getting closer every day to fulfilling the tenets of Vision 2030 by providing each student what they need to thrive and graduate life ready .”
