MISD is one of only 10 school districts in the state to receive the Award of Excellence in Financial Management .
The recognition , given by the Texas Association of School Business Officials
( TASBO ), is presented to school districts that have implemented professional standards , best practices and innovations in financial reporting .
This is the first year of the TASBO Award of Excellence in Financial Management . The criteria for the award is based on state and federal guidelines . Each applicant had to submit documentation in areas such as
The Association of School Business Officials International ( ASBO ) awarded the district the Meritorious Budget Award ( MBA ) for the 2020-21 budget year . The MBA recognizes school districts in the United States and Canada for excellence in school budget presentation , setting a high standard for transparent budget development .
To be considered for the award , participants submit their budget applications to ASBO ’ s panel of financial professionals for review . The applications are then assessed for compliance and other requirements .

Learning is a year-round experience at Mansfield ISD . The district offers a variety of academic and enrichment opportunities for grades pre-K through 12 during the summer .
Some of these opportunities include acceleration courses , academic intervention programs and credit recovery classes . There are also enrichment camps to keep students engaged and summer study suggestions to help students prepare for the upcoming school term .
