First Ever Construction and Trades Signing Day Event
First-Ever
Construction and
Trades Signing Day
Seniors at Ben Barber Inno-
vation Academy were celebrated
for their commitment to pursue
a career in the skilled trades after
graduation. Thanks to a partner-
ship with Klein Tools and SkillsUSA,
the first-ever National Signing Day
Event for Constructions and Trades
was held on May 8.
“We are thrilled to partner
with SkillsUSA on this first-ever
national program saluting high
school seniors excited to start their
career in the skilled trades,” said
Klein Tools Co-President, Mark
Klein. “SkillsUSA predicts that by
Students signed letters of intent, committing their future to roles in the construction
and trades industry.
2025, there will be 3.4 million new
manufacturing jobs available. Klein
Tools is committed to strength-
ening the skilled workforce. By
empowering the next generation
of workers to enter the trades, we
can help close the skills gap while
presenting robust career opportu-
nities for young workers who enjoy
challenging work that offers stabil-
ity and long-term benefits.”
Students from Ben Barber In-
novation Academy joined students
from 300 schools across the nation
for the signing day event. Students
signed letters of intent for a job
offer, apprenticeship or advanced
technical training.
“It’s an honor to see our stu-
dents celebrated as they make
their commitment to their future
in construction and skilled trades,”
said Principal Catherine Hudgins.
“Creating the opportunity for
students to work towards and
receive industry certification is
part of our Vision 2020 guiding
statements. We are grateful for the
ongoing partnership with Klein
Tools and SkillsUSA that makes
this a possibility for the students of
Mansfield ISD.”
