MISD Education Foundation Honors Top 50
High School Students
MISD’s 50 highest achieving students received
medals during the recognition celebration.
Mansfield ISD’s 50 highest
achieving high school students
and the teachers that inspired
them were honored at the MISD
Education Foundation’s 20th
Annual Academic Recognition
Celebration on Monday, April 22.
The MISD Education
Foundation is an organization that
aims to foster creative approaches
to generate and distribute
resources to the educators and
students of Mansfield ISD to enrich
and meet the district’s mission
of ensuring educational and
personal success. The Education
Foundation awards funds to
teachers for innovative projects
and programs that are not funded
by tax dollars. Since 1998, the
MISD Education Foundation
has awarded over $3 million in
innovative teaching grants.
“This year, we were able to
invite the district and community
to celebrate the students and
their chosen educator that made
a significant impact on their lives,”
said Lynn Wilkie, the Executive
Director for the MISD Education
Foundation. “Since we are not
there to cheer them on when
they take a test, this is our way
to recognize their outstanding
academic accomplishments.”
Students were presented
with a ‘Top 50’ Medal. Teachers
and students received a plaque
with their name, a portrait of
themselves and a ‘Top 50’ lapel pin.
