$65,000 in Grants Given for Innovative Education
T
he Mansfield ISD Education Foundation surprised staff members with more than $65,000 in grants to support
innovative projects and activities.
The spring prize patrol went around to campuses to give away 23 grants. A majority of the grants focused on literacy
to help further the district’s first guiding statement, which states that students will read on level or higher by the
beginning of the third grade and will remain on level or higher as an MISD student.
Other types of funded ideas included a grant to help Ben Barber Innovation Academy’s health science program and a
grant to teach students how to construct hover boards.
The MISD Education Foundation has raised more than $3.5 million in grants since its inception in 1998.
