STEM Academy To Host Empowering Event
STEM ACADEMY | The
Jerry Knight STEM Academy’s
Empowering Girls Club is having
a kick-off event for moms and
daughters on Saturday, April 6 at
the Mansfield ISD Center for the
Performing Arts. Girls in grades 5th
- 6th in MISD schools are all invited.
This day of girls empowerment will
be starting at 10 AM and end at 3
PM.
The mission with the
Empowering Girls kickoff event is
to show girls that they are beautiful
inside and out and they can do
anything they set their mind to.
Empowering Girls began in
the fall of 2018. It was created to
help girls feel smart, confident, and
self-driven. In December of 2018,
Empowering Girls was awarded
a grant from the MISD Education
Foundation.
“We love that our learners at the
Jerry Knight STEM Academy have
been challenged with identifying
problems in the community and
developing solutions for them. We
provide them with the structure,
time and space so that they can
own their learning as innovative
problem solvers,” said Victoria
Webster, Associate Principal Jerry
Knight STEM Academy.
