ansfield ISD’s school board comprises seven elected
members who volunteer their time to ensure MISD
students receive the best education possible. Dr. Jim Vaszauskas. “On behalf of Mansfield ISD, I
sincerely thank the school board members for their
willingness and enthusiasm to serve our community.”
Every January, Mansfield ISD takes the time to recognize
these passionate public school advocates who help
students soar to success. They play a major role in setting
the vision and policy for the district. The members of the MISD school board are: Raul
Gonzalez (president), Karen Marcucci (vice president),
Courtney Lackey Wilson (secretary), Michelle Newsom,
Beth Light, Sandra Vatthauer and Darrell Sneed.
“We’re very fortunate to have a school board that works
hard to ensure our students receive a quality education
with several college-and-career ready opportunities, all
while remaining fiscally responsible,” said Superintendent In addition to a special presentation at the January school
board meeting, MISD campuses adopted a trustee for a
day to personally show their gratitude to the school board
members.

can only be done with the help of
the community.
MISD’s new Partners in
Education program brings the
community and school district
together to ensure the success
of all MISD students through
opportunities in mentoring,
volunteering and sponsorships.
The goal of the Partners in
Education program is to build a
better community together. It is
just one of the many ways MISD
is fulfilling its mission to inspire and educate students to become productive citizens.
