ERIC HALL , Custodian at Mary Jo Sheppard Elementary
Eric Hall , a Mansfield High School alumnus , has served MISD for 26 years . His peers describe him as a hard worker who is usually “ dressed to the nines .”
Hall says he enjoys his job because he likes being around children . He credits his positive rapport with students in part to his height , standing tall at 6 feet 6 inches .
As a custodian at Mary Jo Sheppard Elementary , the Mansfield native says it ’ s important to keep kids safe and healthy .
“ They think I ’ m an NBA player , that ’ s half of it right there ,” Hall said , laughing .
KAREN BURGOS-CRESPO , Instruction Alternative Aide at Imogene Gideon Elementary School
Karen Burgos-Crespo enjoys her work as an alternative classroom aide because she likes making children feel welcomed and motivated to learn .
Originally from Puerto Rico , Burgos- Crespo moved to Texas seven years ago looking for a better education for her children . At Imogene Gideon Elementary School , she also is proud to use her Spanish-speaking skills to translate for families when needed .
“ I love helping as a translator with parents and students because I know what it feels like when you are in another country , you do not speak the language , you are learning a new language , and missing your old home .”
Burgos-Crespo says she is confident that Mansfield ISD is the best place to raise her children , live , learn and teach .
PAULA CARLISLE , Front Office Paraprofessional at the Jerry Knight STEM Academy
Paula Carlisle is described by her peers as a welcoming presence to all learners , parents , and staff . She works far beyond the scope of her job description , and the atmosphere she creates in the front office reflects the campus as a whole .
“ I have a firm belief that if you don ’ t like the energy in the room , change it . I feel like I bring a spark of something good where I go .”
Carlisle says she loves her job and the students on her campus .
“ It ’ s a great place to be ,” Carlisle said .
