MANSFIELD ISD EARNS ANOTHER
‘A’ RATING FROM THE STATE

ISD has earned an ‘A’ rating in
the Texas Education Agency’s
(TEA) accountability rating system
for the second consecutive year.
The accountability grade is based
largely on performance on state
standardized tests and graduation
rates. The ratings examine student
achievement, student progress,
efforts to close the achievement
gap and postsecondary readiness.
Mansfield ISD students have
consistently outperformed state
averages in the State of Texas
Assessments of Academic Readiness
(STAAR) exams, and MISD is among
the top-scoring districts when
comparing STAAR results with
surrounding and comparison districts.
STAAR is an assessment program
designed to measure the extent to
which students have learned and
are able to apply the knowledge
and skills defined in the state-
mandated curriculum standards.

The TEA provides annual academic
accountability ratings to its public
school districts, charters and schools.
For 2019, MISD exceeded the state’s
performance by 10 or more percentage
points in 11 of the 22 tests taken.
