EDITOR'S LETTER
Hello..
First of all, I’d like to thank everybody for
their wonderful comments on the fi rst issue
of Manner – the response was outstanding
and it can only mean positive things for the
future.
Whether you are looking for Christmas
gifts or just want to treat yourself, shopping
locally has never been easier. You’ll fi nd
pages and pages of winter trends in this
issue, ensuring you stay looking and feeling
your best.
Our Country File shoot (from page 52)
was inspired by checks, fl orals and chunky
knits – perfect for beating the winter chill. If
you’re looking for something a bit different
for the party season though, head to page 64 where our Decadence shoot
adds a touch of glamour with sequins, rich velvets and luxe fabrics.
After launching her collection in Voisins Department Store, I spoke to
Millie Mackintosh about all things fashion and beauty, see page 82.
Talking of new collections, whilst at London Fashion Week we visited
the Designer Showrooms to talk to the designers about what inspired their
latest pieces. We fell in love with Katie Mcguigan, Julie Brøgger and Zeynep
Dag, fi nd out why on page 86.
Turn to page 113 to read about our recent trip to New York where
we dined at our favourite restaurant, The Polo Bar, snacked at the most
delicious French macaroon shop in the world, Ladurée and visited some
of the most prestigious shops in Manhattan, including the Kate Spade
fl agship on Madison Avenue where we were lucky enough to experience
the incredibly talented artist, Thomas Ard aka Tom Tom, hand paint bags
for the Cheetah, Cheetah, Cheetah event.
Celebrating 40 years in business, David Hick talks to Sarah Jane Holt
about leading the fi eld in antiques to becoming one of the most prestigious
businesses dealing in quality interiors.
I hope you all enjoy this issue as much as the last.
