found," and the Arawaks, “Hewanorra."
But in the 16th century when the
French took over the island they called
it Sainte-Lucie.

of the north east coast in places like
Louvette and Grande Anse.
There are approximately 1000 iguanas
left in the wild and thus the St. Lucia
