SALÒP
It is regarded as the unofficial national
word of St.Lucia.
Salòp is most commonly used as an
exclamation when something exciting or
funny has happened or is about to
happen.
In anticipation of something happening,
"hees" is added to the word making it
"hees salòp or hees hees hees... salòp until
that 'thing' happens.
But generally salòp means nasty, dirty.
"Ou salòp." "You are nasty."
It's also used to describe someone who is
promiscuous.
