Oh wow, congratulations Demedrius! So
now, you're creating your own body of work
and building your
portfolio. "Broken," "Ascension"
and "Matters of the Heart." I watched the
trailers and these are impressive, powerful
and addresses serious societal matters.
What's the inspiration behind your work?
"Broken" for instance?   
I wanted to write something that was
meaningful. Something that people can relate
to. A family member of mine came here, was
working numerous jobs and going to school
at the same time.  
The girl was moving and wanted to get things
done. I took her story, added some fiction to
create the finished product. So yeah, it was
pretty much inspired by a family member
who was "broken."  
How about "Ascension?" Tell me a little bit
about the inspiration behind it?
I hate domestic violence with a passion. I
cannot stand it, I cannot stand it when a man
raises his hand on a woman. It just drives me
nuts when I see it. I wrote it as something I
wanted to film myself. I left it and then I came
