Which Secondary School did you attend?
St. Joseph's Convent class of 2003. I have
such fond memories of those days. Because I
lived in Vieux-Fort, I had to wake up everyday
at 5 a.m to travel to school. This is definitely
not something that I miss. This also meant
that I couldn't stay back after school for
extracurricular activities so instead I would
participate in any lunchtime activities. There
were so many activities at SJC — I think the
school focused on grooming a holistic
individual. I loved participating in our drama,
quadrille and poetry competitions. The
friendships and lessons learned there will be
cherished for the rest of my life. I had some
of the best teachers at SJC and they have
left a lasting impact on me. Even while in
Boston, I have tried to keep in contact with
some of them.
I have to ask, what was your favorite
subject in school? Mine were English,
Spelling and Penmanship (lol, kidding, not
kidding).
" In primary school my favorite subject was
Math. I Ioved problem solving as it entailed
thinking critically about a problem and
finding a solution based on the information at
hand. In Secondary school I enjoyed
chemistry, physics and math for similar
reasons...it wasn’t just about memorization
but involved application of ones
understanding of a concept and a great deal
of discipline. I would not let a problem go
until I solved it. Again, I also found myself
tutoring and helping my friends in these
subjects."
