The capping of membership numbers is inextricably linked
to timesheet availability and it the Board’s view that this
shouldn’t be compromised for the sake of additional
revenue. As with all customer engagement, it is far easier
and costs less to retain a customer than obtain a new one,
hence member satisfaction is imperative. The perfect
scenario is to fill timesheets without having members miss
out on a game. Therefore the practice where members
“block” timeslots, only to cancel the night before or the
day of the game, must be managed to ensure capacity on
timesheets can be reached and in turn the full potential for
membership categories may also be obtained.
It is therefore recommended that the Match Committee
considers implementing a system where the players booked
on the premium timesheets, experience some form of
penalty or rights restrictions, that curbs the behaviours
of either their own name being used as a filler, or simply
holding a tee time as an option, pending a commitment (or
otherwise) to play.
