THAMES TIDE WAY TUNNEL
Last year the construction of upgrading London’s sewage system went underway. The Thames Tideway Tunnel will clean up one of the world’s iconic rivers. The construction has started in west London and will follow the route of the river. We are excited to be a part of this project and will be having candidates on site in the near future.
One of the largest underground stations is getting an upgrade. The plans are in place to cope with an increase in the 96,000 passengers every day using the station. A new ticket office, entrance and 570m running tunnel will be constructed, covering the current tunnel into additional circulation space. New escalators and passenger lifts are said to dramatically decrease passenger journey time and reduce crowding. The introduction of step free access with the new entrance will improve the access for travellers with reduced mobility. We currently have several personnel on site for the construction and are proud to be part of the project.
TfL has announced plans to improve the Circle, District, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines by 2023. They are some of the older sections of the Underground network and all together make up close to half of the tube networking. The redevelopment will increase the capacity, reliability and make journeys for comfortable for passengers. Due to the lines sharing infrastructure, the modernisation is combined into an integrated project, 4LM. We are supplying the project and will be invovled for the duration of the monderisation.
