Health and Safety - what's the latest?

Sentinel Site Access App Launched!

Site Access was released on 4th October 2016 to the industry. Sentinel have received queries on whether it would be mandated on 8th December 2016. This is NOT the case.

Cards swipes are still vital to determine whether an individual has the Authority to Work on the Rail Infrastructure.

Card checkers are able to confirm if individuals are:

- Competent

- Medically Fit

- Have an up-to-date Drug and Alcohol test

- Work for a valid Sponsor

This should be done:

- Each and every shift

- Each time you work with a different Controller of Site Safety

- Upon request following an event/ incident or investigation

In addition to these materials Sentinel has created some FAQs or you can call the 24/7 Sentinel Helpdesk -

Training and Assessments Changes in 2017!

As of 1st January 2017 there will be amendments to the Industry Common Induction Assessment (ICI). The ICI will be split into London Underground (LU) and Network Rail (NR). It is your choice if you wish to sit one or both tests. There is now no requirement to undertake the Network Rail E-Learning on-line Assessment for the ICI:LU to access London Underground Infrastructure. Your training provide should provide you with an ICI:LU Booklet which must be read prior to attending the Training Centre.

PTS Recertification has also change to a 2 day course. The AC will normally be held on the first day and the DCCR on the second. Most training providers have not change the cost to the course. However, please make sure you are available for 2 days when wanting to take the course.

While Mane Contract Services will make a conscious effort to make sure all contractors who are currently working for us are aware of their renewals, please note, if you are aware that your tickets or assessments are due to expire, please get in contact with us at the earliest possible date so any issues can be resolved in advance.

Please also remember Mane are not responsible for the renewal of tickets if you are not currently working for us or do not require that ticket to carry out your assignment..
