DRIVER STANDINGS

as of June 26th

he 2017 British Grand Prix takes place the weekend of the 14th of July and will be held at the Silverstone Circuit., which first hosted it in 1948. The race rotated

between Silverstone, Aintree and Brands Hatch until 1986, but was relocated permanently in 1987 and is contracted to run at Silverstone until at least 2026.

This year, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is looking to win his fourth straight British Grand Prix - an accomplishment only achieved by one other racer, Jim Clark in the 1960s. With a win, Hamilton will tie Jim Clark and Alain Prost with 5 total wins at the event. Earlier in June, Hamilton won is third straight Canadian Grand Prix, inching him closer to the top of the leader board.

Hamilton has been fighting neck and neck with rival Sebastian Vettlel (Ferrari) as the two separate themselves from the pack. By the look of things, one of the two racers will become the F1 Champion at the end of the 2017 season, although Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) should not be counted out just yet.

The season is now half way through with 10 races left after the British Grand Prix.
