HORNSEA

Hornsea is located 120km off the Yorkshire coast and will consist of 174 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines. Back in February the first turbine was installed and is now producing electricity. When fully operational Hornsea 1 offshore wind farm will be nearly double the size (1,218MW) of the current world’s largest offshore wind farm, Walney Extension, and capable of powering well over one million UK homes.

The Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm is located in the North Sea, more than 100 kilometres from the mainland in the German Exclusive Economic Zone. The offshore wind farm covers 22.6 square kilometres, and comprises 33 turbines with a grid connection capacity of almost 269 megawatts.

Lincs Wind Farm is a 270 MW offshore wind farm 8 kilometres off Skegness on the east coast of England. The total cost of the project is estimated at £1 billion including electrical transmission links. The farm was completed back in 2013, but we have contractors out there at the moment.

Sandbank Wind Farm comprises of 72 Siemens wind turbines in the 4-megawatt class. The farm has an overall capacity of 288 megawatts which can supply power to up to 400,000 households. The wind farm extends over an area of 60 square kilometres and is located 90 kilometres off the coast of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
