MY 24 HOURS IN NYC
Global Lifestyle Editor of Delta Sky and interior designer
Jason Oliver Nixon shares his little black book of Gotham go-tos.
As the Global Lifestyle Editor at Delta Sky magazine and one half of the
Brooklyn-based interior design firm Madcap Cottage, I am always sniffing
out the latest and greatest style finds. But what are my favorite go-to spots
when I am not pounding the pavement for the shock of the new? Here’s my
little black book of Gotham go-tos.

b THE WINDOWS AT
BERGDORF GOODMAN
There’s no better eye candy than the delectable win-
dows at fabled department store Bergdorf Goodman.
You might not be able to afford a single thing inside,
but you can always ogle the delicious vignettes that
glisten and gleam within BG’s theatrical vitrines.

THE FRAGONARD ROOM. THE FRICK COLLECTION, NEW YORK
d CHRISTIE’S
Sure, you can brave the massive lines at the Mu-
seum of Modern Art, but we prefer to browse the
free and queue-less collections housed at the re-
nowned Christie’s auction house that sits a mere
few blocks south. Peruse Rockefeller Center, then
venture around the corner to scope opulent offer-
ings such as the “A Palladian Villa by Michael S.
Smith” April 19 - 23. christies.com

e THE FRICK COLLECTION
The former mansion of industrialist Henry Clay
Frick on Fifth Avenue is almost as splendiferous as
the coke manufacturing king’s spectacular collec-
tion of paintings. Savor Frick’s Beaux Arts home
while enjoying such masterpieces as Johannes
Vermeer’s “Girl Interrupted at Her Music” and
Bronzino’s portrait of “Lodovico Capponi.” And
what could be better than the home’s sprawling
and exuberant Garden Court? frick.org
The Metropolitan Museum of Art houses
the best of everything, literally, but we pass
up the Old Masters and such and hightail it
straight for the Wrightsman Galleries that
offer room after room of gorgeous interiors.
Think eye-popping 18th-century rooms
rich with paneling and gilt furnishings that
have been plucked from far-flung French
palaces and that beckon with their rococo
and lacquered ebullience. metmuseum.org
f INDOCHINE
Finish off your day with a late-night dinner
at this perennially chic pan-Asian eatery In-
dochine situated in the heart of Nolita. Step
inside from Lafayette Street, and you will be
enveloped by green banana leaf wallpaper and
ginger blossoms that will carry you to the trop-
ics on the coldest of nights. Keep your eyes
open for fashionable A-Listers as you sup upon
the steamed filet of sole with coconut milk and
cabbage or the roasted boneless Cornish hen
with baby corn and asparagus. Dress up or
down: That’s part of the magic of this always-
magical eatery. indochinenyc.com
