Mallorie Jennings Accounting // Bourbon, Ind. The book is her planner. And it’s open because she’s usually writing something down in it. And about finding her place in a Manchester culture that values community and encourages students like Mallorie to experience all that it has to offer. An accounting major at Manchester, she’s also a pitcher for the Spartans softball team. And a student manager for the women’s basketball team. And the women’s basketball recruiting secretary. And a tutor. And a member of any number of student organizations. She came to Manchester very much within her own shell, but her professors and coaches pushed her to explore beyond it. And so she now has a full planner, lifelong friends all over campus and a captainship on the softball team. Her plate, in other words, is full to overflowing. And she wouldn’t have it any other way. “When I first got to Manchester I was kind of shy and just wanted to go with the flow,” Jennings says. “But being at Manchester has taught me that you’ve got to step out of your comfort zone and just do your own thing. Mallorie Jennings’ life is an open book. “Balancing athletics and academics can be tough, but I’ve kind of found a way to do it and still be successful,” she says. “It’s all about being flexible.” 12 Learn more about Mallorie at www.manchester.edu/MUBetterTogether or #MUBetterTogether
