Cara Lee Wade’s
grandmothers,
Gram and
Granny, were
both diagnosed
with Alzheimer’s
disease in 1999
within months of
each other. They
died in 2004, also
within months of
each other. Cara’s
black and white
images represent
their identity and
a way for her to remember them. “Legacy: Alzheimer’s Stories” will
be on exhibit through June 30 in Gallery 101 on MU’s Fort Wayne
campus. Cara earned her bachelor’s degree in English literature
from Armstrong State University in 1996 and her Master of Fine
Art in photography from Savannah College of Art and Design in
2004. She is associate professor of studio art and photography at
the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, where she also is
graduate studies program director.

Inspired by travels to the Caribbean islands and hiking trips in many state parks, Jim Scott
will exhibit his paintings in Gallery G through Sept. 11, 2017. “Remembrance” employs
a color palette that reflects his adventures. Also included are acrylic works painted in
the style of “fantasy realism” taking the old Masters’ subject matter and reworking it
in a contemporary form. A native of St. Louis, Scott attended Washington University
and the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. He was the art director at Marshall Field & Co.
department store for 15 years before
moving to Rochester, Ind., in 1976.
