Gallery Exhibits
“Transitions,” selected works by Jeff Diesburg, assistant
professor of art at Manchester University, will be featured
in Gallery G in the Jo Young Switzer Center until Nov. 18,
then move to Gallery 101 on the Fort Wayne campus
from Dec. 16 through March 17, 2017. Diesburg earned
his bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and his
Master of Fine Arts degree from the Savannah College of
Art and Design. At MU, he teaches a wide range of studio
courses including Oil Painting, Figure Drawing, Graphic
Design, Torchworking and Photography. He worked
primarily in watercolor until 2011 when he began creating
a portfolio of oil paintings.
Indiana artist Hannah Burnworth will exhibit “Quotidian” in Gallery G from Nov. 28 through
March 26, 2017. “Quotidian” is a mixed-media exhibition in which Burnworth uses manila
envelopes, vintage book pages and wrapping paper to encourage viewers to consider how they
spend their time each day. Burnworth has taught art in Indiana public schools for 10 years,
including five at Manchester Community Schools. She is a graduate of Anderson University
and the Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis.
Selected pieces from the crèche collection of Max ’55 and Joyce Wheeler ’56 Douglas will be
part of a joint show with works from the Indiana Women’s Caucus for the Arts in Link Gallery
from Nov. 22 through late February. The Douglases, generous supporters of the University who
are profiled on Page 41, have collected crèches on their extensive world travels. Link Gallery is
adjacent to Otho Winger Memorial Hall on the North Manchester campus.

continues to be featured
in MU’s Alumni Series.
His bird photography has
moved to Gallery 101 on
the Fort Wayne campus
where it remains through
Dec. 12, 2016.
