MU | N o t e s Mike “Doc” Emrick ’68 of Marysville, Mich., known as America’s “voice of hockey” received the Vin Scully Award for lifetime achievement on Nov. 2. Emrick becomes the eighth recipient of the prestigious honor, awarded by WFUV Radio, Fordham University’s 50,000-watt station. The award is named for Vin Scully, the iconic voice of the Dodgers for more than 60 years. Scully began his Hall of Fame broadcast career at WFUV. 1970s Barbara Hunt ’71 of Oak Park, Ill., has retired after 37 years of service to American veterans at the Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Administration Hospital. Michael Morris ’71 retired as an educator in the Fort Wayne Community Schools after 43 years and accepted a position as the alumni director at North Side High School.
