David Neuhouser ’55 of Hartford City, Ind., April 1, 2015. David
taught at Manchester from 1959 to 1971 when he joined the faculty
at Taylor University. There, he taught everything from calculus to
algebra and trigonometry. He had a passion for the writings of
C.S. Lewis, which greatly influenced his Christian faith. David was
the author of two books and in 1996 founded the Center for the
Study of C.S. Lewis & Friends in Taylor’s Zondervan Library. After
earning his bachelor’s degree from Manchester, David received his
master’s degree from the University of Illinois and his doctorate from
Florida State University. He was retired from Taylor as professor of
mathematics emeritus. He is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years,
Ruth, and four grown children.
