MU | N e w s Gallery Exhibits Cynthia Lockhart’s fiber art is infused with a kaleidoscope of diverse influences that include fashion, music, travel and African arts. Her quilts are distinguished by their pulsating colors and irregular, organic shapes. An award-winning artist, Lockhart’s work has been reviewed in The New York Times and is held in private and corporate collections throughout the United States. Lockhart teaches fashion students in the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning. Lockhart’s work will be on exhibit in Gallery G on the upper level of the Jo Young Switzer Center from Dec. 4, 2015, through March 18, 2016. “Dreaming 2” Quilt The works of Judy Wenig-Horswell will be on display in Gallery G beginning April 4. “This exhibit will focus on recent work but will include work completed since my retirement from teaching art at Goshen College,” says WenigHorswell. Titled “Exploration & Evolution,” her exhibit features the cast bronze “Nursery of Pizotes,” created in 2015 and pictured here. “I hope to reveal both the exploration and the evolution of ideas and media during this time,” says Wenig-Horswell. Featured works will include paintings, jewelry, metal work and clay sculptures. Wenig-Horswell taught at Goshen College from 1973 to 2009. “Connecting Cultures,” a photographic collection of Thelma S. Rohrer ’84, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, will move to Gallery 101 at the Fort Wayne campus later this month. 10 | “Nursery of Pizotes”
