hot spot. I like spicy enhancements, so I’ m a fan of the Smokehouse Burger with smoked cheddar, bacon, jalapeños, onion rings, and smokehouse BBQ sauce. The Union Burger is customizable, which is always going to make even the pickiest eaters happy.“ Union South is a great choice for lunch,” says Nick.“ The staff is incredibly friendly; the sculpted burger is juicy and sits perfectly on the grilled bun.” To round out your visit downtown, Nick suggests swinging by the coffee shop and bookstore right next door.

Nick was keen on visiting Union South after hitting up its sister restaurant, Union Underground in Manchester.“ We started our meal with an appetizer of poutine shared by the table and all agreed that was the highlight of the entire outing. The fries here are crispy and have the perfect amount of salt. The smash burgers were also enjoyed by the table,” shares Nick.
“ With two smash patties per burger, plan to take a big nap after one of these.” The Underground also offers a few different burger options, including the Mushroom Swiss, the Wagyu Smokehouse Burger, and the ever-popular Build-a-Burger. Both Union restaurants have a full bar with local brews on tap and delightful cocktail concoctions, like the Mad River Painkiller and the Tom Cat Espressotini. During the warmer months, both restaurants offer outdoor dining!

Zoey’ s is an ideal place to take the family, with its casual and inviting atmosphere that offers booth, table, and counter seating. Their list of burger options is quite extensive, with choices like the Brontosaurus Burger( a beef patty topped with pulled pork!) and the Grilled Turkey Burger. If you like fries with your burgers, you’ ll love Zoey’ s steak fries, nice and thick and made in-house.“ Kim, Nick, and I had a wonderful time at Zoey’ s Double Hex,” recalls Donna.“ Bob, Beth, and the staff were extremely kind and hospitable. The family-friendly atmosphere was great. The service was superb. My burger was excellent and cooked exactly as I requested- medium rare, leaning toward the pinker side. The smothered onion burger, complete with perfectly melted cheese, tomato, and lettuce, was very enjoyable and filling. It also came with coleslaw and a pickle.” Kim added:“ Don’ t forget the house Birch Beer, the homemade potato chips, and the outdoor seating!”
