With his wagging tail and friendly demeanor , Charlie embodies the warmth and hospitality that defines this charming Manchester café . “ Charlie doesn ’ t reside on premise , but he ’ s the lifeblood of our café ,” shares Kim Stone , Manager of Charlie ’ s Coffee House . “ When he comes on duty , usually 2 to 3 times a day , he stirs up a lot of excitement .” Indeed , Charlie ’ s presence is a cause for celebration , both indoors and outdoors . “ He greets people with such enthusiasm ,” says Stone . “ Many customers look forward to spending a few minutes with Charlie . He ’ s wonderful with children , especially young ones .” It ’ s not uncommon to see smiles light up faces as Charlie makes his rounds , stopping between tables and sharing a friendly nuzzle or affable wag . While Charlie ’ s breed may be a subject of debate , there ’ s no denying his charm and friendly disposition . “ The breeder said he ’ s a full-blown Jack Russell , but I see him differently ,” says Bill Drunsic , owner of Charlie ’ s Coffee House . “ I land on a long-haired Dachshund-terrier mix .” Regardless of his lineage , Drunsic says that Charlie ’ s impact on the community is undeniable . “ I ’ ve had more introductions and wonderful conversations with folks in Manchester because of Charlie than I can possibly count .” n
