WORKING IN MOTION PICTURE FILM

Ever since Eastman Kodak developed
the first motion picture film in the late
1800s, still photographers have been
appropriating the moving medium. Today,
photographers use both black-and-white
and color motion picture film to create
dynamic still photography. This exhibition
explores storytelling through the creation
of single, still images made with motion
picture film. Guest curator: Stephen Schaub.

The pieces and textiles on display utilize
recycled, repurposed, and renewable
organic materials in unusual and vibrant
ways. The exhibition will also use historical
fashion as a lens through which to
examine contemporary vintage culture
and the repurposing of garments. Fashion
