FOCUS ON
NURSING
SVMC is proud to employ more than 48 nurses who have,
collectively, earned four consecutive Magnet ® designations. The
American Nurses Credentialing Center‘s (ANCC) Magnet ® status
recognizes the strength and quality of nursing. SVMC is one of
only 43 institutions worldwide to have earned Magnet ® status
four times.
SVMC was further recognized by the ANCC through its
annual Magnet Prize™ awarded in 2017. Awarded to only one
organization worldwide each year, the prize recognized SVMC’s
Transitional Care Nursing Program. Based on compassion and
collaboration, the program reduced the number of emergency
department visits and hospital admissions and strengthened
connections with community partners and patients.
Through their strong personal connections, stellar work ethic, and
active participation in a shared decision-making approach to care,
SVMC nurses ensure every patient is treated with dignity and the
absolute best in care.
