The League

Of The Greatest

Italy saw Lazio win the league two times in a row, looking for the third consecutive league gold. Chris Silcock has really found his rhythm and the players enjoy his leadership, delivering good results.

Season 2012/13 was the year Chris Silcok won his first title with Lazio, just 3 points ahead of Fiorentina. Next season was Inter the runner-up.

Another team lurking in the shadows as an outsider, but also winner of 2 bronze medals in Italy is Alexandre Festa's Bologna, who have managed to reach the UEFA semi-finals this season.

Helder M. Martins, after winning the CL in 2008 with Lazio, moved to different teams but found a new home in Napoli, when he joined them in September 2013. Napoli are now top contenders.

With 4 games left, season of 2014/15 looks likely to be an affair between Lazio and Inter, as is the Coppa Italia final. They either get one golden trophy each or someone will be dubbed the double winner. Inter still being in the Champions league also looks like they will be playing the finals as well. A treble?

Next ...

If Lazio fails to win league and cup, we might see Chris Silcock leaving for another club.

Inter has found a world class manager in Igor Kostovski, who can win the treble this season.

This also might be the year Thiago gets tired of being close to win but fails in doing so, to look for other challenges, or stay and try winning something yet another season.

This season the European adventure for the Italian teams looks very good, after trashing Middlesbrough in the first leg by 3-0, Inter can reach the final or even win it.

Torino's Ruggiero Disanti hasn't had as impressive international career but has been a great scorer for his club.

Chris Silcok, Lazio

Star manager, league champion x2, Champions league winner. Chris is experienced manager, but close sources to manager apparently have said Chris will retire soon to take on more relaxed hobbies.

Igor Kostovski, Inter

Veteran manager, has won Coppa Italia twice. It's been a while since Igor lifted a golden trophy and he might do just that, maybe even several times this season.

Helder Mendes Martins, Napoli

Veteran manager, had his career heights with Lazio, winning Champions league back in 2008. Helder has been building a tremendous team.

Thiago Netz, Juventus

Consistent performer in Serie A, Juventus seems to be close to upset all the time. Patience is something Thiago has plenty of and it may pay off to keep focus.
