Barcelona

vs

Real Madrid

Dubbed by few as the league where Barcelona or Real Madrid win and the others show up to be (quite often very soundly) beaten. The Copa del Rey has been won by Real Madrid three times and once by Barcelona. Two of the finals have been between the two clubs.

Both teams have one Champions league final loss, Real Madrid perhaps having better overall performance in the Premium European Cup.

The question if both premier teams will ever have opposition good enough to match them will not remain unanswered for long. This season some of the other teams look very sharp and willing to make it harder for the Spanish giants to dominate as easily as in the past.

The rest of the league is not really that bad but often eclipsed by the quality of the top teams.

Next step

Barcelona surely would like to avenge last seasons Copa del Rey final, while Real Madrid would look for winning the league title again after three seasons finishing as second behind Barcelona.

Real Madrid looked very sharp last season, scoring 186 goals and letting only 9 in, while Barcelona scored 165 goals and conceded 10. Third placed team was 38 points behind with 59 scored goals and 30 conceded.

Is there any chance anyone reaching the quality and excellence of those two giants?

Experts would say that players aging and retiring will most likely have an impact on teams greatness if not replaced with equally great players. Something everyone knows is a complex problem.

Barcelona Boss, Pedro Pereira, 36 years old. Finance Controller at a pharma company near Lisbon, Portugal.

"Started playin the game in the old days and try to somehow manage to be in the game the less time as possible (for the sake of mental sanity, 2 daughters and a wife) but not be wiling to do it... :)

Sporting C. Portugal supporter."

André Leandro, has been at Real Madrid since day one.

"André CML, works for Skeletor Industries as advisor. Age, unknown, probably oldest manager in the game..."
