I’m 37 years old and I’ve played ManagerSim for a very long time in the past. I started playing when the game was still named “Soccersim” and stopped when it was sold and started to be paid. In that time, I played the game with several other friends from my university and we all were in the Hungary League (my team was Pecsi). Our game had just one tick per day and unfortunately we had played just one season when the game was sold.
After that, some of us returned when the game came back, in a game with three ticks per day. We were again in the Hungary league and I managed Puska’s Kispest Honved. In this time we played several seasons, and Kispest Honved won the Championship many times (I think I won 6 Hungary leagues, but I’m not sure). My toughest opponent in those championship was Siofok, which was managed by one of my friend from the university.
With a lot of guys playing well in the league, the Hungary teams started having better players and achieving good results in Champions League. Kispest Honved was also the team which obtained the better results – the best of then was reaching Champions League second group phase.
I also remember the best player that ever played in Kispest Honved. His name was Samuel Carneiro, a Portuguese central Forward, which was fast, very skillful and a great finisher. Carneiro was 20 years old when he arrived in Kispest Honved, played several years, scored a lot of goals until he was sold in his high twenties. However, after some seasons apart, Carneiro came back to Kispest Honved to finish his career in the team which projected him.
I don’t recall my last days in the game very well. A lot of people stopped playing and I after the university I didn’t have much time to play. However, I still remember going to Premier League in the last days of the game and managing Tottenham Hotspurs. I had a little trouble at the beginning (didn’t have much time to look for good players and in the KH times), but when things were getting better, the game was shut down again (unfortunately).
About getting back to the game, It was luck. I was remembering the old times last week and thought “what if the game returned?”. So I googled it and found out that my hopes were right!
I joined the game for the old times and because I don’t have time to play any other manager games like Football Manager, which became very complex and need a too much time expended. The reason I pick up Kilmarnock is because I’m still level 1 and don’t have to many options to choose. So, I decided for Kilmarnock because the Scottish premier League has some human players and, although the bad position in the championship, the players seem better than the other Level 1 team (Ayr United) and I think I can make the team get a better result.
