ManagerSim August 2017 | Seite 28

A: The past, if you have played the game in the old days?

For this interview I checked my old email. My beta account for soccersim was ready on 2000 August 14th. I was one of the pioneers of the game. But I can't remember how I discover Soccersim. We were some happy few to help Peter Strand and Martin Bresson to improve the game.

I was at this moment I knew some of historical players : Pete, Chris, Mark D., Mark S, Graham, Stephen, Kevin, Andres, Rod etc...

After a while Soccersim was sold but Peter Strand contacted me to be a soccertest beta tester. Soccertest became Managersim before the game stopped because Perter and Martin were to busy to manage it.

One of my regret was to miss the soccersim's manager appointment in London.

B: Currently I am a free players of Managersim. Certainly such most of pioneers I am less involved than before. No more time but if I could give some free little help do not hesitate.

C: Why do not create a Youth Academy official competition such like Youth League on real life? Something which could improve academy reputation.

Some times I feel that the game is trusted by some happy few who play between themselves. I feel the game less interactive than before. Maybe it is linked to the actual period

This season is an exception but ith the new rules it seems hard to build a competitive team to fight against Bayern, Real and Barcelone. Now the game are more realistic but with all its drawbacks. I miss the time I could compete for title with Le Havre or Racing 92or to see Preston winning the CL. I think it could generate some frustation.

D: My real name is the one I use in th game Bruno RICHARD and I am from France. I live in the close subburn of Paris. The team I support is Paris

A: Yes, I did! I think it was 1998-99, I was back in college and I played with a few friends-- we played in the Hungarian league, it was really fun to try and make a very small league worth something.

I've been playing Soccer (and other sport manager games) ever since.

B: I'm trying to get the grip of the game and find time to actually take Montrose to the Premier.

The game is cool, both new features and the familiarity with the old game. But I admit that I haven't been a good neighbor and have not participated much in the forums and stuff.

C: My main concern with all manager games is playability. Players tend to ask for "realistic" games, but realistic games suck. :-P In a realistic soccer simulation, the idea of taking a team like Montrose and promoting it until it plays in the CL is pure delirium, but in a great manager game, it has to be possible.

Stuff like Youth Academy and stuff like that should be a little skewed to the side of the small teams, to allow for a challenge for both big and small clubs.

My name is Luiz Rocha and I'm from Brazil.

I played the game years ago, but i still know the clubs from the past. It all started in the German second division, with some friends (all Dutch). I started the game with Furth. The best years i had was with Atalanta (2e in the Serie A, all thanks to a star player who came up in the youth academy). I lost a Uefa Cup final with FC Utrecht (against RKC with Hielke as manager).

I'm happy the game is brought back and i made my debut in the Premier League with Newcastle United. I hope the game will stay and will be available as a application for IOS/Android. I wish all managers good luck and greetings from the Netherlands.

Roeland vd Ham, the Netherlands

A: I did, but I don't remember exactly when.

I was a GM in one game and played 2-3 others at the time it was called SoccerSim.

I'm prette sure I played with Lecce and Hansa Rostock.

B: The game is more interesting than ever, since the gap between the best and the next wave is smaller. Best example would be Hamilton winning the CL, which was the best performance I have witnessed in the game.

The community is good at the moment, however we miss some of the dramas from the past in the forums ;)

C: Concerns: Lack of players - hopefully it will get better.

Ideas/Wishes: More gameworlds. It would be fun to play the game from the beginning with the original database but with all the new changes applied.
