stripes served to camouflage against the
grasses. But recent research reveals that
the stripes aren’t for camouflage at all.
Sometimes, you just have to rock the
stripes and never feel the need to validate
your brilliance. MMU women stand out.
You can always find them in a crowd. It
could be they talk a little louder, stand a
little taller, or have a positive energy that
fills up a room. We live with boldness and
we don’t apologize for how remarkable
and amazing we are. We’re just living the
life of freedom God designed for us.
in herds, they remain close to their
immediate families. As MMU Mentors, we
build teams inside MMU. But they become
more like families. They are our sisters,
daughters, granddaughters, nieces, and
aunts. And the family that God creates is a
bond that lasts.
Zebras are dangerous. Don’t mess with a
zebra. Zebras have a powerful kick and in
one, swift move can kill a lion, usually by

their authority. We can pack a mean punch
when we stand on the Word of God so step
back! So welcome to the zebra tribe. We
got your back (and your stripes)!
Zebras have incredible endurance. They
don’t run as fast as horses because they are
built for endurance, not necessarily speed.
MMU women are the same. We go for the
long haul. We realize the path before us is
a marathon, not a sprint, and we’re ready
to go the distance. When God gives us a
promise, we go after it—no timelines and
no excuses.
Zebras cannot be tamed. People in the
past have tried, but zebras are extremely
resistant to domestication. They were born
wild, and they stay wild. We are, too. We
have that wild, brilliant Spirit in us that
cannot be enclosed, stifled, or limited. It’s
the Spirit of God Himself. We don’t
conform to the world. Instead, we are
constantly being transformed by the
renewing of our mind (Romans 12:2). We
are passionate women—born of God,
remaining in God, and living in total
freedom.
Zebras are social creatures. They stick
close to their families. While zebras travel
